Alan leads a team of three Investment Managers, looking after a discretionary client portfolio book he has developed over the past ten years. These are mainly private individuals, families, charities, and trusts. He provides expertise in everything from self-invested personal pensions to ISAs.
Alan, who joined the Glasgow office in 2012, is particularly proud of the high level of research expertise and professional integrity that RBC Brewin Dolphin offers clients. To reinforce this he is also a Competency Manager, responsible for ensuring that staff can effectively carry out their roles. And as a member of the Management Committee, he helps set strategy.
Alan began his financial services career with the Bank of Scotland in 1985, before moving to stockbrokers Speirs & Jeffrey in 1987 where he rose to the position of Senior Associate Director. He is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and a Chartered Wealth Manager.
