Wealth manager Brewin Dolphin continues to support charities across the UK with the latest round of its community grants programme. The initiative encourages the company’s employees to nominate charities to receive a grant and these can be charities they are personally involved with, or which work to benefit the community in which they live. It forms part of the company’s wider corporate giving strategy, which also encompasses fundraising, volunteering and employee payroll giving.
(Some of the local UK charities that Brewin Dolphin has supported through its Community Grants Programme, r to l: PANDAS Foundation, Bath Boules Trust, Ipswich Art Society, The Bromsgrove Youth & Community Hub, The People’s Kitchen, AberNecessities, and the Tyne & Wear RDA.)
Since its inception in 2013, coming up for its tenth year, the Brewin Dolphin community grants programme has donated over £240,000 to local good causes.
Among the varied charities to recently each receive a Brewin Dolphin community grant of £1,000 were:
AberNecessities, a non-profit organisation that supports disadvantaged children across Aberdeenshire with food, clothing and other essentials.
Bath Boules Trust, an umbrella organisation that has been raising money through its annual Bath Boules event to support Bath-based charities for almost 30 years.
Ipswich Art Society, a charity promoting cultural life in Ipswich and distinguished as one of the UK’s foremost exhibiting venues for painters, sculptors and printmakers.
PANDAS Foundation, a nationwide charity with local hubs, including Trafford Panda in Greater Manchester, which offer emotional support to parents and parents-to-be who are struggling to cope with the experience.
The Bromsgrove Youth & Community Hub, a charity that provides open-access and detached outreach services to those aged 13-19 with the aim of improving the quality of life and future prospects of those who access their services.
The People’s Kitchen – a charity that provides food, friendship and support to homeless and vulnerable people across Newcastle.
Tyne & Wear RDA– an organisation that provides riding lessons from its purpose-built Washington Riding Centre in Sunderland to around 130 children and adults with a range of disabilities and special educational needs.
Rupert Tyler, Brewin Dolphin’s business development director and chair of the corporate responsibility committee, said: “Brewin Dolphin’s community grants programme endorses our aim of being at the heart of the communities in which we live and work, and forms part of the larger fabric of our corporate charitable giving. Since 2013, we have donated over £240,000 to local charities, helping to inspire futures and positively impact those around us.”
