Brewin Dolphin’s Newcastle Office Spreads Some Charity Cheer

News & comments

11 December 2019

The kind-hearted souls at wealth manager Brewin Dolphin’s Newcastle office will be busy this festive season with their ’12 days of Christmas’ volunteering initiative, which will see employees from the office volunteering at 12 or more local charities through December. The office plans to volunteer 550 hours to good causes, including collections for Teenage Cancer Trust and St Oswald’s Hospice, helping prepare the Ouseburn farm’s Christmas fair, and some ‘proper decorating’ at a vulnerable adult’s project. Last December, the office completed over 400 hours of volunteering and is aiming to surpass that target this time.

Brewin Dolphin’s Newcastle office plays an active role in supporting local community charities, which has seen it raise over £50,000 in the last two years.

“We’re passionate about supporting the local community and think it is great how all our staff are keen to support our volunteering at Christmas” said investment manager and corporate responsibility ambassador Jeffrey Ball.

“We help over 80 local charities manage their money, which gives us a fantastic insight into the work they do. It also allows us to understand the challenges they face and that is why we were so keen to get involved”, he added.

Ball continued: “We do volunteer all year round, but everyone understands Christmas can be a particularly difficult time of the year. And with over 300 staff in our Newcastle office, it means we have a good insight into the local community and what it needs help with.”
